On Monday February 17, 2014 at approximately 11:18 PM, the Waterloo Police Department Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at 2621 Randolph Street, Waterloo.  The search warrant was the result of a
firearms and narcotics investigation conducted by the Waterloo Police Violent Crime Apprehension Team.

During the incident, Officers took Malcolm Reshaad Leflore, age 26, and Teshia Nequa Verconica Smith, age 25, both of Waterloo, into custody.  Officers located a quantity of ecstasy pills during the search.
Officers also seized a 9mm semi-auto handgun and a .38 caliber revolver, along with ammunition.

Leflore was charged with multiple felonies including felon in possession of a firearm, interference with official acts involving a firearm, possession with intent to deliver ecstasy and a drug tax stamp violation.  Leflore was also taken into custody on five NO BOND probation violation warrants and a warrant for failure to appear.  Smith was charged with a felony for aiding/abetting a felon in possession of a firearm. Both suspects were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
