On Friday, December 4th, 2015 at approximately 0450hs, Waterloo Police Department received a 911 call of an assault in progress with a possible shooting at 1619 Franklin Street. When officers arrived they detained three suspects.

As a result of the investigation it was determined that two suspects entered the residence, armed with semi-automatic handguns, demanding items from the victims. During the incident one of the suspects struck two of the victims with the handgun causing the handgun to discharge. Those victims received only minor injuries.

The following subjects were charged in Black Hawk County District Court:

Michael James Alexander Jr., age 25, was charged with Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, and Interference with Official Acts.

Joseph Dean Lobato, age 26, was charged with Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, and Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon.

No charges are where filed on the third subject that was detained. This case remains under investigation.
