Update:

On Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 the Waterloo Police Department Safe Streets Task Force, Violent Crime Apprehension Team, Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force and the U.S. Marshalls Service arrested Larry Earl Lorondez Phillips, Age 24, of Waterloo for the shooting that took place in the 500 block of Sumner Street on May 27th, 2017 and for a Federal Arrest warrant. Phillips was charged in Black Hawk County District Court with Willful Serious Injury, Carrying Weapons, Possession of Weapons by a Felon, and Going Armed with Intent. Bond was set at $150,000.

On Saturday, May 27, 2017 at approximately 2:12 p.m officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Sumner St on a report that a subject had been shot.  On arrival to this location a 26 year old male was located with injuries that were sustained in a shooting.  The victim was transported to Allen Hospital by Waterloo Fire and Rescue.

The injuries that the victim sustained are not considered to be life threatening.

The investigation into this incident continues.

No further information will be released at this time.
