At approximately 9:46 PM on Monday, September 11, 2018 Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue responded to 84 Ricker on a shots fired call.   Upon their arrival they located Diane Martin age 48 suffering from a gunshot wound.    Diane Martin was transported by Waterloo Fire Rescue to Allen Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  

On September 12th, 2018 an autopsy was conducted by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office and determined Diane Martin died as the result of a single gunshot wound.

This is an ongoing investigation and the Waterloo Police appreciate and encourage anyone with information to contact the Waterloo Police Department.  

In order to protect the sanctity of the investigation and the criminal justice process no further information will be released at this time.
