On Sunday, October 7, 2018 around 3:55 AM Waterloo Police and Fire Rescue responded to 119 Allen Street on report of a stabbing victim. Upon their arrival they located Ryan D. King age 26, suffering from a stab wound to his chest. King was transported to Covenant Medical Center by Waterloo Fire Rescue. Through the investigation into this matter officers requested a warrant for Joshua L. Maricle age 34 for Willful Injury, causing serious injury.
On October 10th at 11:12 AM officers located Maricle in the area of 6th and Grant. Maricle attempted to flee from officers but was apprehended a short distance later. Maricle was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail where he is being held on $20,000 bond.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
