On June 25th, 2020 Officers assigned to the Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) were conducting an ongoing weapons investigation. VCAT Officers located and arrested Devon Reed, 23, of Water loo on two arrest warrants from a previous incident that took place on June 20th, 2020. Those warrants were for Harassment 1st Degree and Violation of a No Contact Order. During the course of the investigation on June 25th VCAT Officers located two handguns, ammunition, marijuana, and K2/synthetic marijuana. Reed is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition from a previous felony conviction and previous domestic assault conviction. Reed was subsequently charged with the following in addition to the two warrants: Felon in Possession of a Firearm X2, Felon/Prohibited Person in Possession of Ammunition X2, Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Offense.
