Teen arrested on drug and gun charges

On Friday, August 12, 2011, at approximately 5:19 AM Waterloo Police stopped a 1998 Mercury in the 900 block of West 3rd Street for a traffic violation.

While talking with the driver and passengers, officers detected the odor of marijuana. A search was conducted and officers located a loaded 9 MM handgun underneath the rear seat where the teen was sitting.

Police arrested Irvin NMN Johnson Jr., age 18, of 1300 Meadow View Drive, #3, Marion, IA. At the Black Hawk County Jail during the booking procedures, police found a baggie of crack cocaine hidden in Johnson's underwear. Johnson was charged with carrying weapons and possession of crack cocaine.
