Patch

Multi-agency Collaboration

The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Waterloo Police Department, and the Iowa State Patrol will again be collaborating in a “multi-agency project” approach in anticipation of the warm-weather type of activity that negatively impacts the quality of life in the metropolitan areas of Black Hawk County. These efforts were very successful last year.

The three involved agencies believe that through partnering with the community, neighborhood associations, listening to citizens, and working cooperatively with each other, this focused approach will again help diminish occurrences of crime. It also increases the level and value of service that they are able to provide to the citizens.

The agencies will utilize overt presence patrolling; increased coverage and multi-agency patrols (in both non-descript and marked patrol units); and increased communication with citizens through officers walking or biking in specified areas. All these efforts will be noticeably apparent in the areas identified.

The first of many of these collaborated efforts is scheduled within the next week.
