Waterloo Police Respond to Reported Explosive Device

On Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the resident at 315 Bryant Avenue reported to the Waterloo Police Department that he had an explosive device at his residence.  The resident advised that he believed the device was a live Claymore Anti-Personnel Mine. 

The Waterloo Police Department Bomb Squad responded to the residence and the surrounding houses were evacuated, as a safety precaution.

The Bomb Squad has evaluated the device and determined that it was an inert training aid.
