Lieutenant Matt McGeough is currently assigned as a Watch Commander with the Patrol Division and is
responsible for the daily operations of Watch III. 

Lieutenant McGeough has been with the Waterloo Police Department since 2003.  He has previously served
on the Department's Citizen Response Unit, served as a Field Training Officer, Tactical Team Operator, and
as an Investigator with the Tri-County Drug Task Force.  He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2009.
His supervisory assignments have included Patrol, the Violent Crime Apprehension Team, the Gang Task Force
and the Tactical Unit.

Lieutenant McGeough is a graduate of the Cedar Rapids Police Academy and was previously employed as an
Officer with the Iowa City Police Department.  He graduated from the University of Iowa in 2002 with a Bachelor
of Arts Degree in Sociology and Political Science with concentrations in Criminology and Law.
