Waterloo Man Wanted In Connection With Recent Shooting Incident

On Monday, July 20, 2009 shortly before 1:30 pm Waterloo Police officers responded to the area of Broadway and Conger Streets on a report of a shooting that had just occurred.  The victim, 33-year-old Bernard Edwards, was taken to Allen Hospital where he remains hospitalized in stable condition.

The suspect in this shooting has been identified as 23-year-old Tavares Detravaar Montgomery of Waterloo.  Montgomery is a black male, 5 feet 10 inches and 178 pounds.

Investigators have obtained arrest warrants for Montgomery charging him with willful injury, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm as a felon.  The total bond on these warrants is two hundred and seventy-five thousand dollars.
