On October 18, 2023, at approximately 4:45 PM Waterloo Officers were dispatched to 1601 W. 11^th Streat.  on a report of shots fired.  Waterloo Patrol Officers and Detectives from the Violent Crime Apprehension Team arrived and contained the scene.  During the investigation the officers learned that there was some type of argument and that an individual had shot one round off and retreated inside the residence.  The individual was identified as 17-year-old Mason Romeo.   Romeo was taken into custody and charged with 3 counts of Assault with the Use/Display of a Dangerous Weapon and Reckless Use of a Firearm.  This investigation is ongoing. 

A criminal Charge/Warrant is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
