At 11:19 P.M. on Wednesday, March 30^th, 2016 the Waterloo Police Department Patrol, VCAT, and Investigations units responded and investigated a shooting at 2007 W 3^rd Street in Waterloo.

Officers arriving at the residence were told that a robbery had just occurred at this address and a male victim was shot once in the abdomen. This victim was driven to the Covenant Hospital in a private vehicle before the police arrived at the home. The victim was identified as Houston Simmons, age 19. Simmons injury is non-life threatening.

At the scene witnesses gave a suspect vehicle description and direction of travel. We were also told that one suspect fled on foot. Officers searched the neighborhood and located the suspect on foot as well as the vehicle with two occupants.

Two adults were arrested as a result of this investigation:

Daelin Elijah Cole, age 18, Robbery 1^st degree, Burglary 1^st degree, Going armed with intent, Willful Serious Injury, and possession of a Firearm as a Felon.

Jylan Curtis Moore, age 19, Possession of a Controlled substance-Marijuana 2^nd offense.

This incident remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed.
