On Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at approximately 10:00 A.M. in the area of Check into Cash at 2744 University Avenue, Officers of the Waterloo Police Department initiated a felony traffic stop on a vehicle. A tip was received that an armed robbery was going to be committed at a local business. Surveillance teams were set up at numerous locations in the area and the suspect vehicle arrived at this location. During the traffic stop a semi-automatic handgun was located in the vehicle along with duct tape, face masks and rope. Suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody and subsequently admitted to planning to commit a robbery at the Check into Cash.

The following suspects were charged in Black Hawk County District Court with Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony, Carrying Weapons and Going Armed with Intent.
