Patch

On 3/12/2010 at approximately 5:37PM, Waterloo Police Officers located a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver tried to elude them and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. As the driver of the vehicle attempted to turn from E. 11th St onto Lafayette St, he lost control and struck another vehicle which was in traffic on Lafayette.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and after a very brief foot pursuit, he was arrested by officers. He was found to be a 14 year old Waterloo resident, and he is currently being held at the North Iowa Detention Center on multiple charges stemming from this incident.

The driver of the other vehicle that was struck was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Further details will be released at a later time as the incident remans under investigation.

Sergeant Andrew Clark, Waterloo Police Dept.
