Waterloo Police Investigate Personal Injury Traffic Accident
On Saturday, October 04, 2008 at approximately 4:24 P.M., Waterloo Fire Rescue personnel and Waterloo Police officers responded to Mile Marker 227, Highway 20, on the report of a single vehicle personal injury traffic accident.
During the course of the investigation officers learned that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 20 lost control. The driver of the vehicle attempted to take corrective action and in doing so veered across all eastbound lanes of travel onto the right shoulder striking a light pole. The vehicle contained five occupants who were transported to an area hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Due to the accident, Highway 20 Eastbound between Highway 63 and Ansborough was closed while officers conducted their investigation. It has since been reopened for normal traffic operation.
The accident remains under investigation.
