On Saturday December 7, 2024, at approximately 7:41 AM consolidated dispatch received a call of a person down in the alley to the rear of 721 Fowler Street.  Waterloo Patrol Officers arrived on scene and discovered a person deceased.   Detectives and Lab Personnel were called in to assist.  The deceased was later transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Ankeny, where an autopsy was conducted.  The State Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the male as 59 yrs old Tommie Lee Johnson Jr. of Waterloo, Iowa.  Johnson’s manner of death has been ruled a homicide.  The Waterloo Police Department is asking the public if they have any information to contact the Waterloo Police Detective Division 319-291-4340 #3 or Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers 855-300-TIPS.
