Water loo, Iowa, April 2nd, 2021

On Friday, April 2nd, 2021 at 7:33 AM the Waterloo Police Department received a report of shots fired in the 3500 block of Cobblestone Circle.   As responding officers arrived on scene they confirmed that shots were being fired.   After a period of time there were no shots and officers were unable to make contact via phone with the location.   Officers were able to make entry and located a deceased male from an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound.   

As Officers entered the residence they notice a package that caused them concern, so the Waterloo Police Bomb Unit was utilzied and confirmed the package was of no threat to the public.  

No further informaiton will be released at this time.
