On Monday, November 10, 2008 upgrades were supposed to be installed into the Waterloo Police Department's telephone system. However, this work was not performed due to some scheduling problems.
The upgrades to the Waterloo Police Department's telephone system have been rescheduled for Monday, November 17, 2008. The upgrades will begin around 7:00 a.m. and may last until Noon.
If you call the police department during this timeframe, there will be short periods of time when you may hear the line ring, but it will not be answered. If this occurs, please try calling a different phone number within the department's phone directory found in either your local telephone book or at the department's website www.waterloopolice.com. If you need to contact someone immediately, please call the non-emergency phone number at the Black Hawk Consolidated Communications Center, 319-291-2515.
Emergency phone service will not be interrupted during this process. If you have an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
After the upgrades are completed, the police department's phone service will return to normal operations.
These upgrades will not affect the phone system in Waterloo City Hall, only the police department's.
