WATERLOO POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY
On November 17, 2008 at approximately 1:47 a.m, Waterloo Police Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 1200 block of W. Mullan Avenue. A cab driver with Yellow Cab reported that she was called to the 1200 block of W. Mullan Avenue to pick up a fare. When she arrived, two black males wearing hoods pulled up on their heads, approached her cab from the courtyard. The two then entered her cab and one of the suspects pressed a handgun to her head and demanded money. They then fled on foot with the driver's cell phone, purse and an undisclosed amount of cash. They were last seen running towards Elmwood Cemetery.
The suspects are described as black males in their late teens to mid-twenties. The gunman was described as being approximately five foot, three inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a bright orange hooded sweatshirt. The other subject was described as approximately six feet tall and weighing over two hundred pounds and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Their were no injuries reported. The incident remains under investigation.
