On August 24th and 25th, 2009 Waterloo Police officers investigated a series of robberies that occurred in the Waterloo area.  The following locations where targeted during these incidents.

August 24th around 6:15 am, Clark of Waterloo gas station at 1008 LaPorte Road.

August 24th shortly after 3 pm, Metro Laundry at 914 West 5th Street.

August 24th around 11 pm, 5 Star Snacks and More at 437 Sullivan Avenue.

August 25th shortly after 5 am, Perkins Restaurant at 3280 University Avenue.

In each of the robberies a white male suspect entered the business, implied that he had a weapon, demanded money from the clerk and then once he had the money, fled the store.  No one was injured during these incidents.

On August 29, 2009 Waterloo Police investigators arrested 41-year-old Daniel Shawn Drenner of 25-8 Westfield Avenue in Waterloo and charged him with robbery in the second degree in connection with the 5 Star Snacks and More robbery.

Further investigation identified a second suspect that is tied to these robberies and on Thursday, October 22, 2009 investigators arrested 38-year-old James Edward Anderson of no permanent address and charged him with four counts of robbery in the second degree.  Anderson is accused of committing the robberies at the Clark of Waterloo gas station, Metro Laundry and Perkins Restaurant and driving the get away car from of the 5 Star Snacks and More robbery.  Anderson is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on no bond.

Photographs of Drenner and Anderson will not be released at this time.
