On November 11, 2009 at 3:19PM, Waterloo Police Officers and Waterloo Fire/Rescue Paramedics were called to the Kwik Star at 707 Broadway St regarding a report of an assault were an ambulance had been requested.

 

Upon arrival, the victim was identified as Domonique Cortran Turner, age 19 of Waterloo. He was found to have serious injuries to his head. He was transported to Allen Hospital and then transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City with potentially life threatening injuries.

 

Witnesses to the incident reported that an unknown suspect entered the business and assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

 

Investigators are interviewing several witnesses and the investigation continues.
