On 11-18-09 at approx. 10:50 AM Officers were in the area of the 100 block of Conger where a citizen alerted them to a home invasion type robbery occurring at 119 Conger Street involving firearms.  

As Officers began to investigate this report they observed suspects fleeing from the rear of the residence and pursued them.  Officers have detained some suspects in this case.  One of the suspects was shot by police.

As per department policy Agents of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation have been called in to investigate the officer involved shooting. The Waterloo Police are conducting the investigation into the home invasion.
