On April 1, 2010 at 4:08 pm the Waterloo Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a bicycle in the 100 block of West Wellington Street. On arrival Officers found that 12-year-old Cedric Hardric was riding his bicycle, when he came out from the alley to cross the road at which time he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and left the scene. Hardric was taken to Covenant Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and released.
The vehicle and driver were later located in the 400 block of Oaklawn Avenue. The driver is identified as 27-year-old Tarvious Glasper. Glasper was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended, Driving While License Barred and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident.
At 4:50 pm the Waterloo Police Department responded to another motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in the 900 block of West Ridgeway Avenue. On arrival Officers found 59-year-old Victoria Gander injured and on the side of the road. During the investigation it was determined that Gander was attempting to cross the road and ran into the side of a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Brent Bergstrom. Gander hit the side mirror; causing her to fall as her leg went under the vehicle resulting in injury. Gander was transported to Covenant Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
