On July 30, 2010 at approximately  2:22 AM, Waterloo Police were sent to the 400 block of Cherry Street on a report of gun shots.  Officers located some gun shell casings, but no one was injured.

The investigation lead to a search of a house on Thompson Street. During the search, Officers recovered a .25 caliber handgun and arrested Demontae James O'Donnell, age 21, of 1222 Colorado Street, Waterloo.

O'Donnell was charged with Intimidation with a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm as a Felon and Carrying Weapons. He is currently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail.
