Waterloo Police responded to a fight call in the 300 block of Polk Street just before 7 pm tonight, Wednesday, August 4, 2010.  While enroute Officers were advised a shot was fired and a male had been shot in the leg.

 Responding Officers located 16-year old Diedrick Smith of Waterloo suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his leg.  Smith was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injury and released.

 The investigation is on going and no further information is being released at this time.
