The Waterloo Police Department recently conducted alcohol and tobacco law compliance checks.

The following businesses passed the compliance checks and did not sell to under aged people:

Casey's 218 Pub, 4014 University Avenue
Casey's General Store, 3260 University Avenue
Chasers Pub, 3005 University Avenue
Liquor & Tobacco, 2844 University Avenue
Kwik Star, 324 Fletcher Avenue
5 Star Snacks & More, 315 Fletcher Avenue
Crossroads Amoco, 2035 E. Mitchell Avenue
Broadway Liquor, 821 Broadway Avenue
City Liquor, 508 Broadway Avenue
Liquor & Tobacco, 515 1/2 Broadway Avenue

The following people were cited:

Jacob James Kiefer, age 25, of 309 W.6th Street, Cedar Falls, Iowa while working at Spicolis Grill, 3555 University Avenue, was cited for selling cigarettes to an under aged person.

Larry Paul Ahles, age 51, of 216 1/2 Allen Street, Waterloo, Iowa while working at the 5 Star Snacks and More, 437 Sullivan Street, was cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an under aged person.

The Waterloo Police Department routinely conducts compliance checks and will continue to in the future.
