On Wednesday, November 10th at 8:47 AM, Waterloo Police responded to the 5th Street Bridge after receiving a report of a subject preparing to jump off the bridge. Traffic to the bridge was closed off after the subject was located on the ledge on the river side of the railing. Sergeants Brooke Carter and Jason Feaker approached the subject from opposite directions. While Sergeant Carter spoke with the subject, Sergeants Carter and Feaker were able to pull the subject over the railing to safety. The subject was then taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

There are no charges pending and the name of the subject will not be released.
