On Saturday, November 13, 2010, the Waterloo Police Department assisted with a drug drop-off event at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 605 W. 4th Street.  This is event was associated with the American Medicine Chest Challenge and was sponsored by MidAmerican Energy, Pathways Behavioral Services, Home Instead Senior Care, Allen Health Systems, Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission, Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging, Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Waterloo Police Department.

 The event was held from 0900 to 1300 and more than 145 citizens dropped off approximately 378 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs and other medications. 

 The coordinators would like to thank the citizens who participated and made this an extremely successful event.
