On December 29, 2010, at approximately 12:26 AM, Waterloo Police were sent to the 800 block of Sunrise on a report of someone breaking into cars.

Officers arrived and obtained a description of the suspects and vehicle, a white Cadillac, being used in the crime. A short time later, Officers stopped a white Cadillac at West 3rd Street and Lawnhill Avenue.

Upon further investigation, Officers arrested Riley Augustus Mallett, age 16, of 2020 West 4th Street, Waterloo and Robert Deon Washington, age 18, of 1116 West 3rd Street, Waterloo. They were charged with three (3) counts of Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. Mallett was taken to the Northeast Iowa Juvenile Detention Center and Washington was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail where they are being held on the charges.
