Waterloo Police Arrest Two In Connection With Polk Street Shooting

Shortly before 7 pm on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, Waterloo Police responded to a fight in the 300 block of Polk Street.  Officers found 16-year old Diedrick Smith suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.  Smith was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital by Waterloo Fire Rescue ambulance where he was treated for his injury and released.

 As a result of the investigation 16-year old Jalen Davontae Hall, of Waterloo and 16-year old Nathanial Whittaker, also of Waterloo have been arrested and charged with Carrying Weapons, Intimidation With A Dangerous Weapon and Willful Injury class 'C' felony.  Whittaker and Hall are currently being held at the Black Hawk County Jail.  The investigation is on going.
