Waterloo Police make Robbery Arrests

On December 8, 2009 at approximately 6:07 PM, Waterloo Police were dispatched to the Elite Liquor Store, 1309 Lafayette Street on report of an armed robbery. Two suspects entered with store with guns and demanded money. One suspect was armed with a .22 rifle and fired a shot during the robbery. The other suspect was armed with a shotgun and it was recovered at the scene. Both suspects left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The investigation into this robbery has lead to the arrest of the following people:

Jacquiere Chaimone Burnside, age 16, of 1914 Clearview Street, Waterloo, IA. He has been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Owners Consent. Burnside was armed with the shotgun when he committed the robbery. Burnside also drove the getaway car, which had been stolen earlier. 

Ladarius Daquan Hawthorne, age 16, of 1910 Plainview Street, Waterloo has been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. He fired the .22 rifle during the robbery. No one was injured and the rifle was later recovered.

On December 22, 2009 at approximately 11:25 PM, Waterloo Police were dispatched to the Elite Liquors, 1309 Lafayette on report of a armed robbery. Two suspects entered the store with guns and demanded money. One suspect was armed with a .22 handgun and fired a shot in the business. No one was injured. The other suspect was armed with a .22 rifle. Both suspects left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The investigation into this robbery has lead to the arrest of the following people:

Jacquiere Chaimone Burnside, age 16, of 1914 Clearview Street, Waterloo has been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. He was armed with the .22 rifle. The rifle was later recovered.

Telly Lawon Nix, age 19, of 1306 West Donald Street, Apartment #332, Waterloo has been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. He was armed with the .22 handgun and he fired a shot in the business. No one was injured. The handgun was later recovered.

Adrian Reese Walker, age 17, of 857 Logan Avenue, Waterloo has been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. The investigation revealed he was a lookout during the robbery.

Aimee Marie Bowers, age 18, of 815 Jones Road, Evansdale has been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. The investigation revealed she drove the getaway car during the robbery.
