Waterloo Police Identify Victim and Suspect From Recent Shooting Incident

On Tuesday, July 21, 2009 around 2:30 pm Waterloo Police officers responded to 125 Chestnut Street on a report of a shooting that had just occurred.  Upon arrival officers found a male victim, identified as 15-year-old Raheem Sir Dimond Scott of Waterloo, with a gunshot wound to his leg.  Officers determined the shooting actually took place in the 100 block of Lincoln Street.  Scott was transported to Allen Hospital where he remains hospitalized in stable condition.

The suspect in this shooting has been identified as 16-year-old Lloyd James Allen of Waterloo.  Allen is a black male, 6 feet 1 inch and 200 pounds.

Investigators have obtained arrest warrants for Lloyd James Allen charging him with willful injury, going armed with intent and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.  Total bond on the warrants is ninety thousand dollars.  A picture of Allen will not be released at this time.
