Waterloo Police make Arrest in Connection with Shooting Incident
On Wednesday, October 22, 2008 around 3 p.m., Waterloo Police Officers responded to the 900 block of Linn Street on a report of shots fired.
During the course of the investigation officers determined that an altercation had taken place between two groups of people. One person from the first group of people displayed a handgun and began shooting at the other group of persons who were fleeing the area in their car. The gunman, now in a car, began chasing the second group and eventually rammed his car into their car. The two groups then separated and left the area.
Victim and witness information led officers to the person who had fired the gun. Officers arrested 20-year-old Norris Wendell McFarland of 153 Dawson Street in Waterloo and charged him with Going Armed with Intent and Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon. McFarland is presently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail.
