Waterloo Police Investigate Armed Robbery
On Friday, September 5, 2008 at approximately 12:13 a.m., Waterloo Police responded to the Kum and Go at 1104 Washington Street on report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Officers were told that a black male entered the business and eventually confronted the clerk while displaying a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the cash registers. Once he received it, he ordered the clerk to unplug the store’s telephone and lay on the ground. The suspect then fled the business on foot with an undetermined amount of money.
The suspect is described as a black male of average height and weight. His hair was in cornrows and he had facial hair. He was wearing a black jacket and dark pants.
There were no injuries reported and the incident remains under investigation.
