Shooting Suspect Arrested

SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED

On August 21, 2022 at 3:50 PM Waterloo Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Cutler Street & Dawson Street on a report of shots fired.   When officers arrived on scene, they located over 30 spent shell casings.   Officers discovered that a residence in the 100 block of Dawson Street had been struck.  During this time an adult male victim had arrived at Allen with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  Officers located a suspect on foot along with two firearms. The suspected has been identified as 23 yrs. old, Mario Ronrico Smith, of Waterloo.  Smith was taken into custody and charged with possession of firearm by felon, intimidation with dangerous weapon, and willful injury.
