On Sunday, February 17, 2013 at approximately 2:00 AM, Investigators with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted a search warrant at 1718 Cornwall Avenue. Investigators recovered a quantity of Marijuana, Ecstasy, and Crack Cocaine. They also seized a .45 caliber handgun. The drug investigation case involved the transportation of drugs from Detroit, Michigan to Waterloo, Iowa.
Arrested were:
Luke James Behnke, age 42, of East Dubuque, Illinois. He was charged with Conspiracy to distribute over 5 grams of Ecstasy, Conspiracy to distribute over 10 grams of Crack Cocaine and conspiracy to distribute Marijuana. He is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on $205,000.00.
Charles Robert Newell, age 35, of Redford, Michigan. He was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Conspiracy to distribute more than 10 grams of Crack Cocaine, Conspiracy to distribute Marijuana, Possession of Ecstasy with intent to deliver, and Conspiracy to distribute over 5 grams of Ecstasy. He is being held in the BHC Jail on $260,000.00 bond.
Andrea Gakovic, age 18, of Waterloo, Iowa: She was charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana, Conspiracy to distribute over 5 grams of Ecstasy and Conspiracy to distribute over 10 grams of Crack Cocaine. She is being held in the BHC Jail on $205,000.00 bond.
