On Tuesday August 20, 2013 Officers with the Waterloo Police Department’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team were conducting a weapons investigation in the 800 block of Logan Ave. At approximately 1900hrs, VCAT Officers made contact with a group of subjects in that area. Officers approached twenty-two year old Shevin Darnell Caston of Waterloo.  Officers observed a large bulge in Caston’s shorts pocket. A search of Caston resulted in officers finding a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun. Caston was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail for possession of a firearm as a felon and carrying weapons. He is being held on $7,000 bond.
