On Thursday, January 2, 2014 at approximately 2:43 PM, Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire rescue were sent to the 1200 block of Conger Street on report of an accident. Officers found that a single vehicle was westbound on Conger Street when the vehicle went off the road and struck a tree.

The driver, Weldon Gene Jones, age 70, of 9900 Opal Lane #6, Cedar Falls, IA was unresponsive and transported to Allen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
