On Wednesday, January 8, 2014, the Waterloo Police Department conducted tobacco compliance checks.  The following businesses were checked and found to be compliant reference tobacco sales to minors:

Cork's Grocery, 1956 Lafayette Street
Kwik Star, 324 Fletcher Avenue
Five Star Snacks and More, 315 Fletcher Avenue
Dollar General, 66 E. Tower Park Drive
Hometown Foods, 1010 E. Mitchell Avenue
Romantix, 1507 LaPorte  Road

The following businesses sold to the minor:

Neighborhood Mart, 2100 Lafayette Street.  The clerk was Melissa Clark,  225 Dixie Circle, Evansdale , Iowa
Sycamore Convenience, 619 Sycamore Street.  The clerk was Michael Nieman,  121 Mary Drive, Evansdale , Iowa
B and B East, 1615 Bishop Avenue. The clerk was Sultan Beg, 3109 Wellington Drive, Cedar Falls, Iowa

Each clerk was issued a citation:  fine of $100.00 with surcharge and court costs . Total is $195.00
