On February 15, 2014 Officers with the Waterloo Police Department Violent Crime Apprehension Team executed a search warrant at 154 Sherman Ave. in Waterloo reference a firearms and narcotics investigation. During the incident Officers made contact at the residence with thirty-three-year-old Travis Ledelle Jones and thirty-eight-year-old Brian Dwayne Myles both of Waterloo. Officers seized a distribution quantity of
marijuana, a large amount of cash and other items used in the sale and distribution of drugs. Officers also seized several firearms including three semi-auto handguns, a shotgun and an AK47 style rifle.
During the investigation Jones and Myles were taken into custody on multiple felony charges. Jones was charged with aiding/abetting a felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver marijuana while in possession of a firearm and false statements on annual permit to acquire a pistol. Myles was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon, possession with intent to deliver marijuana while in possession of a firearm and a drug tax stamp violation. Both subjects were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
