On Thursday, April 24, 2014 at approximately 2:38 PM, Waterloo Police were dispatched to Covenant Medical Center, Emergency Department, 3421 West 9^th Street, on report of a stabbing victim. The victim, Ramell Desha McQueen, age 27, of 1240 Downing Court, Waterloo, was taken to Covenant by witnesses.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that McQueen had been stabbed during an altercation outside of 1240 Downing Court. McQueen was stabbed several times in the back and was taken into surgery for life threatening injuries.

Police have arrested Damarus Jamel Taylor, age 25, of 320 East 7^th Street, Waterloo, IA. He has been charged with Willful Injury.
