Around 1200 A.M. on July 4, 2014 Officers with the Waterloo Police Department’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team made contact with a subject acting suspicious in the area of W. 4th St. and Locust St. The subject was identified as eighteen-year-old Queshandis Ramon Seals of Cedar Rapids. During the investigation Officers completed a pat down of Seals and located a .22 caliber semi-auto handgun, which was later found to be stolen during a previous residential burglary in Waterloo. Officers also located a distribution quantity of marijuana on Seals’ person.
Seals was later released from the Waterloo Police Department with the investigation pending. Officers obtained arrest warrants for Seals on July 7, 2014 for trafficking stolen weapons, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, carrying weapons and possession of stolen property (theft 4th degree).
VCAT Officers coordinated with Officers with the Cedar Rapids Police Department during the investigation. On July 13, 2014 Cedar Rapids Police Officers located Seals and took him into custody at his residence. Seals is currently being held in the Linn County Jail.
