On October 15, 2014, Waterloo Police were called to the Hometown Cash Advance located at 2842 University Ave on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. It was reported that a male had entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
As officers arrived in the area, they located a subject matching the description of the suspect and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect as well as locate evidence of the crime.
The suspect was identified as Stevie Dewayne Harrington age 26 of Waterloo. He was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Possesion of Weapons as a Felon. He is currently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail.
