On Friday, February 6, 2015, at 0910 A.M. Waterloo Police were dispatched to Bank Iowa at 330 E 4th Street on report of a strong arm robbery. The suspect was described as a lighter skinned black male who had just robbed the bank and took off running north towards the Presbyterian Church on Franklin Street with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A short time later, as a result of a good description and direction of travel given by the bank employees, an officer located a male matching that description near the Presbyterian Church. The male suspect took off running but was caught within a short distance. The suspect was taken back to the bank and the employees identified the male as the person who robbed the bank.
Also located in the area where he was found was the clothing that was worn during the robbery, as well as items from the robbery found on the suspect.
The suspect was identified as Arthur Lee Sanders, age 56. Sanders was charged with Robbery 2nd degree and booked in to the Black Hawk County Jail.
