The Waterloo Police Department responded to a report of fight on the 4th floor of 627 Sycamore Street on April 8th, 2015 at 11:50 P.M. Shortly after there was a report of a female stabbing victim, Genesis Wilder, age 22, in front of the KWWL building, 500 E. 4th Street. Wilder was transported to Allen Hospital Emergency Room with non life threatening stab wounds to her left arm and leg. She was treated and later released.

As a result of the investigation, Mekaila Shane, age 22, was arrested for Willful Injury and Going Armed with Intent.
