On Saturday September 26, 2015 around 10:40pm Waterloo Officers received multiple reports of shots fired in the area of the 500 block of Western Ave. with subjects running toward the 1100 block of W. 5th St. During the incident Officers made contact with several subjects involved in a disturbance at 1122 W. 5th St. One of the subjects involved in the disturbance was identified as eighteen-year-old Diamond Jackson of Waterloo. At one point Officers went to arrest Diamond Jackson as he was interfering in the investigation. Jackson immediately began struggling and resisting arrest. During the struggle Officers wrestled Jackson to the ground and eventually deployed a taser to gain control. During a search of Jackson Officers located a loaded .380 semi-auto handgun in his pants pocket. The firearm was later determined to be stolen. Officers with the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crime Apprehension Team secured the residence and eventually executed a search warrant. Officers located a stolen .38 special revolver along with various ammunition and drug paraphernalia inside. Jackson was charged with interference with official acts involving a firearm (Class D Felony), inteference with official acts causing injury (Serious Misdemeanor) and carrying weapons (Aggravated Misdemeanor). Jackson was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
