On July 24, 2016 at about 2011 hours, Officers with the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team stopped a vehicle in the area of Columbia St and Edwards reference a vehicle violation. During the stop, Officers made contact with a subject named Nathaniel Matlock (Age 19). During a pat down of his person, a 40 cal handgun was located on his person. The weapon was determined to be stolen from a burglary in Waterloo, Iowa. Matlock was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Weapon as a Felon, Possession of Marijuana, and Carrying Weapons. He was booked into the BHC Jail.

 

On July 24, 2016 at about 2158 hours, Watch II Patol Officers were sent to the area of the 400 block of Reed St reference shots fired. During the investigation, Officers with the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team located a group of subjects in the 400 block of Cutler. During the investigation VCAT Officers located and recovered a revolver. Several subjects were detained. Charges are pending as the investigation is pending further follow-up.
