On November 11, 2016 at approximately 11:03 p.m.  the Waterloo Police Department received mulitple reports of shots being fired in the general area of E. 4th St and Newell.  A few minutes later it was learned that a 19 year old female had been shot at the intersection of Linn St and Gable.

The female was transported to Unity Point Hospital for treament of her injuries.  She was subsequently transported to University of Iowa Hospitals due to the severity of her injuries.  The female later died.

The identity of the victim will be released on November 13, 2016.
