On Wednesday, June 13, 2018 Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue responded to a report of an assault in progress in the area of the 1200 block of West Mullan Ave.   Upon the officers arrival they found the victim, Johannes Rodenburgh age 72 of Waterloo suffering from injuries to his head and neck.   Mr. Rodenburgh was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.   The investigation into this matter led to the arrest of Martavis T. Wise age 27 of Waterloo for Willful Injury, causing serious injury.   Wise was taken to the Black Hawk County jail where he is being held on $100,000 cash bond.   Rodenburgh remains at Covenant Medical Center.
